Treatment Impregnated wood
Painting impregnated wood is not always a must.
What is a disadvantage is that this wood discolours somewhat after a year.
You can leave it that way and clean it regularly so that the wood remains beautiful.
Another option is to paint impregnated wood.
Painting with impregnated wood you have to wait at least a year.
Painting with impregnated wood you have to wait at least a year.
The wood is a bit greasy and there are substances in the wood that have to be removed, they actually evaporate from the young wood.
If you do not do this, you will not get a good bonding layer.
After all, it makes sense when this has not yet been worked out.
And you apply a layer of paint, then these substances want to come out and this is at the expense of your painting.
So rule: wait 1 year!
Painting impregnated wood, which paint should you use?
Which paint to use when painting impregnated wood is of great importance.
You should absolutely not use lacquer, because it forms a film layer on your wood, as it were, from which the moisture can no longer escape.
As a result, you get blisters in your woodwork, or even worse: wood rot.
You can use lacquer on sufficiently dried wood.
What you should use to paint impregnated wood is a moisture-regulating stain, or system paint.
Moisture-regulating means that moisture can get out of the wood, but no moisture gets in, the wood has to breathe, as it were.
Method
Start by degreasing and then sanding. Then make the wood dust-free with a brush and then with a damp cloth.
Now you can start painting. Paint at least 2 coats. Don’t forget to sand and dust lightly between coats.
