Wall painting

Painting walls with different possibilities and when painting a wall you need to know how to start.

Anyone can paint a wall.

We’re talking about an interior wall.

How to paint the walls inside the house

You can have plenty of ideas about that.

After all, a color determines your interior.

Most colors chosen when painting a wall are off-white or cream white.

These are RAL colors that go with everything.

They are lovely light colours.

If you want to paint other colors on your wall, you can choose from, for example, flexa colours.

Which is also very nice to paint with concrete-look paint.

Your furniture must of course match that.

Painting walls tips   a wide forum and with painting walls you can easily paint yourself.

Painting walls tips   is always useful if you can apply these.

There are so many tips around.

I always say the best tips come from a lot of experience.

The longer you paint, the more tips you get by doing.

As a painter I should know.

I also hear a lot from fellow painters who give me tips.

I always respond positively to this and try it right away.

Of course if you walk a lot you will come across a lot.

Even customers sometimes have nice tips.

In practice it works differently than on paper.

When you have a painting job you can always try it yourself first.

If it still doesn’t work, I have a great tip for you where you will receive six free quotes in your mailbox without any obligation.

Painting walls tips start with checks.

When painting walls, you should immediately receive tips on how to check a wall.

By that I mean what is the condition and how should you act.

The first tip I give you is to test the substrate.

To do this, take a sponge and rub it over the wall.

If this sponge bleeds, that means you have a powdery wall.

If this is a thin layer, you will have to apply a primer before applying a latex.

This is also called a fixer.

If the layer is quite thick, you will have to cut everything off with a putty knife.

Unfortunately there is no other method.

The tip that I hereby give you is that you should spray the wall wet and let it soak.

That makes it a bit easier.

If there are holes in it, it is best to fill them with a wall filler.

These are readily available in hardware stores.

Tips on walls and preparation.

When you make good preparations, you will be proud of your work and always get a good result.

The tips I can give here are: use a stucco runner to catch paint splatters.

Then you take painter’s tape to properly tape the adjacent edges such as skirting boards, window frames, and any ceilings.

How you can do this exactly and accurately read the article about painter’s tape.

Make sure you have everything ready: latex, brush, paint bucket, stairs, paint roller, grid and possibly a block brush.

Advantages of walls painting and implementation.

A tip that I will give you immediately if you do not paint often is that you do the job together with someone.

The first person goes with a brush along the ceiling in a length of 1 meter and makes a strip of about ten centimeters.

The second person goes right after it with a paint roller.

This way you can roll nicely wet in wet and you will not get deposits.

If necessary, place m2 on your walls in advance with a thin pencil and finish this wall.

If you don’t have the opportunity to do it in pairs, you either have to work quickly or use a tool.

Also read the article walls springs without stripes.

That tool is a retarder that you stir through the latex so that you can sauce wet in wet for longer.

Do you want more information about this?

Then click here.

This way you prevent incitement.

The next important tip I want to give you is that you remove the tape immediately after sauce.

If you don’t do this, it will stick to that surface and it will be difficult to get the tape off.

Latex is always used to coat a wall.

It is easy to use and can be used on almost any surface.

This latex also breathes, which means that you have less chance of mold formation.

Wall painting techniques

Wall painting techniques

the many possibilities and with wall painting techniques you can get a nice cloud effect.

With wall painting techniques you can create many possibilities.

It of course depends on what kind of end result you want to achieve with wall painting techniques.

There are different wall painting techniques.

From stenciling to sponging a wall.

Stenciling is a painting technique in which you make a fixed figure by means of a mold and repeatedly let it come back on a wall or wall.

This mold can be made of paper or plastic.

We are only going to discuss the painting technique of sponges here.

Painting techniques wall with sponges

One of the wall painting techniques is the so-called sponge.

You apply a lighter or darker shade to the painted wall with a sponge, as it were.

If you want to have a good result, it is best to make a drawing beforehand of how you want it to be.

Then choose a color carefully.

The second color you apply with a sponge should be slightly darker or lighter than the color you have already applied.

We assume that you have already painted the wall 1 time with a latex paint and that you now start sponging.

First put the sponge in a bowl of water and then squeeze it completely empty.

Then dab in the wall paint with your sponge and dab on the wall with your sponge.

The more times you dab in the same place, the more the color covers and your pattern becomes fuller.

Take a look at the results from a distance.

It is best to work per square meter so that you get an equal effect.

You create a cloud effect, as it were.

You can combine both colors.

Apply dark or light over the painted wall with the sponge.

My experience is that dark gray will be your first layer and your second layer will be light gray.

I am very curious if you have ever used these wall painting techniques.

The walls in your house are very important. Not only because they ensure that your house remains standing, but they also largely determine the atmosphere in the house. The surface plays a role in this, but also the color on the wall. Each color exudes a different atmosphere. Are you planning to give the walls a fresh makeover by painting them, but not sure where to start? In this article you can read everything about how to paint the walls inside.

The step-by-step plan

Before you can start painting, it is important that you make enough space. You need the space to move around, so all furniture has to be put aside. Then also cover it with a tarp, so that there are no paint splatters on it. When you have done that, you can follow the step-by-step plan below:

Tape off all edges first. Also on the ceiling, on any frame and door frames and the skirting boards.
If you had wallpaper on the walls before, check whether all residues are gone. When holes or irregularities are visible, it is best to fill them with a wall filler. Once that is dry, sand the light so that it is flush with the wall and you won’t see it anymore.
Now you can start degreasing the walls. This can be done with a special paint cleaner, but it also works with a bucket of warm water, a sponge and a degreaser. By cleaning the wall first, you ensure that the paint adheres better later.
After cleaning you can start with the primer. Primers are important when painting interior walls because they often have a suction effect. This is reduced by applying primer to the walls. In addition, it ensures a nice and flat result. You can apply the primer from bottom to top, and then from left to right.
After that you can start painting the walls. You can use regular wall paint in the desired color, but for more deck quality you could also use a power deck. It is important that you first stir the paint well for a nice and even result.
Start with the corners and the edges. It is best to use an acrylic brush for this. Make sure the corners and edges are all well covered with paint. If you do this first, you can work more precisely afterwards.
Then you can start painting the rest of the wall. You do this by painting with a wall paint roller first from left to right, and then from top to bottom. Swipe over each lane 2-3 times with the paint roller.
What do you need?
tarpaulin
masking tape
degreaser
Bucket of warm water and a sponge
Wall filler
sandpaper
Primer
Wall paint or power deck
acrylic brushes
wall paint roller

Additional tips
Remove all tape once you are done painting. The paint is still wet, so you don’t pull it along. If you only remove the tape when the paint is completely dry, the paint can be damaged.
Do you need to apply a second coat of paint? Then let the paint dry thoroughly and then tape the edges again. Then apply the second coat in the same way.
If you want to use the brushes again later, clean them well first. When you have worked with water-based paint, do this by placing the brushes in a container with warm water

water and let it soak for two hours. Then dry them and store them in a dry place. You do the same with turpentine-based paint, only you use turpentine instead of water. Do you just take a break, or do you continue the next day? Then wrap the bristles of the brush with foil or put them in an airtight bag and cover the part around the handle with tape.
Painting wall from smooth to tight result

If you want to paint a wall that has structure on it, for example, you can easily smooth it yourself.

Read the article about Alabastine wall smooth here.

Have used it several times and it works perfectly.

Before you apply a latex paint to the wall, you should first check that the wall is not powdering.

You can check this with a damp cloth.

Go over the wall with the cloth.

If you see that the cloth is turning white, you should always use primer latex.

Never forget this!

This is for the bonding of the latex.

You can compare it with a primer for the lacquer paint.

When treating a wall, you must first prepare

It is also essential that you first clean the wall well with an all-purpose cleaner.

Fill any holes with filler and seal the seams with acrylic sealant.

Only then can you paint a wall.

Use a wall paint that is suitable for this.

Which is also handy to put a plaster runner on the ground before that time to prevent any spillage.

If you cannot paint tightly along the window frames, you can cover this with tape.

After this you can start painting the wall.

Painting the wall and the method.

First, run a brush along the ceiling and corners.

Then roll the wall with a wall paint roller from top to bottom and then from left to right.

Read the article about how to paint a wall with the painting techniques I explain in that article.

I hope I have given you enough information so that you can do this yourself.

Wall painting gives a fresh look

painting a wall

gives embellishment and when painting a wall you have to make good preparations.

Painting a wall is always a challenge for me.

It always freshens up and refreshes.

Of course it depends on what color you choose for a wall.

Leave the wall plain white or in an original color.

If you paint the wall in white, this will be done in no time.

You don’t have to tape and you can get started right away.

If you want a different color, this requires a different preparation.

First you need to calculate the square footage and then determine how much paint you need.

I have a nice calculator for that.

In addition, you must free up space so that you can reach the wall.

Painting a wall requires good preparation

When painting a wall, make sure you have purchased all the supplies.

We are talking about the wall paint, a paint tray, a brush, a fur roller, stairs, cover foil and masking tape.

You start with the floor to put a foil on it and stick this foil.

Then you first thoroughly degrease the wall.

A wall is often greasy and needs a good cleaning.

Use an all-purpose cleaner for this.

Tape the ceiling and skirting boards with tape

Then you will apply a tape in the corners of the ceiling.

Then you start with the baseboards.

Also don’t forget to disassemble the sockets and light switches in advance (you can also paint those, but that is slightly different, read here how).

The first thing to do now is to paint all the way around the tape with a brush.

Also around the sockets.

When this is done, paint the wall from left to right and from top to bottom with a roller.

Do this in boxes.

Make square meters for yourself and finish the entire wall.

When the wall is dry, repeat everything one more time.

Just make sure to remove the tape before the latex paint dries.

Then remove the cover film, mount sockets and switches   and the job is done.

If you do this according to my method you are always good.
